Does Sentimental value depreciate over time?

Just had a thought.... If an item that has a high sentimental value, does the value depreciate over time.

Think about your grandfather's Victoria Cross he earned for his service in WWI. The Sentimental value has definately depreciated when you sell it off on "under the hammer." or cash in the attic.

I would have to say there are three things involved here.

Those would be: how much you value sentiment in general, what sentiment you feel toward that item and how meaningful was the person, place or event associated with that item.

I don't think time impacts sentimental value. It's how those other three things play in that makes the determination of worth.

Now, about what brought me to you. I'm finalizing the next edition of A Hitchhiker's Guide To The Blogosphere. I'll be including you.

There were numerous posts I thought about commenting on. I decided it would be best to just drop in a comment on the top one. If you come for a look at The Gonzo Papers and decide to write comments I will follow suit.

Cheers
